823-Birr-to-Portlaoise-4pp-Jul26-ONLINE
From Wednesday 1 July 2026 there will be an updated timetable and fare structure in place on the 823 Birr to Portlaoise bus.
Changes include:
- New stop at Killyon
- Hail & ride stops on Mountmellick Rd, Portlaoise
- Hail & ride stops at Saints Peter & Paul Church, Portlaoise
- Portlaoise Train Station will now be serviced on the Mountmellick Rd stops
- Service will start/finish at Laois Education Centre, Block Rd, Portlaoise
The fare changes are in line with the National Transport Authority’s (NTA) national fare review, which aims to ensure passengers across Ireland pay a consistent rate per kilometre across all Regular Rural Service (RRS) routes.
